The first Guild Wars was my first experience with MMORPG. It was well programmed, intuitive, and most of all fun, so I have good hopes that Guild Wars 2 will be good too.
A few weeks ago I got to participate in a beta test that lasted a weekend. I got to play as a Charr, a race that I killed many of in GW1, and found them and their home land to be akin to the Horde in World of Warcraft. But the gameplay is different. Your first set of skills depends on your weapon, and you can pick up a variety of weapons or distractions in the environment. I delighted in picking up innocent looking feathers that I could use to blind an enemy.
I liked how groups small and large formed on the fly. You can help without any negative consequences, as everyone gets full loot and XP.
One problem I had was that I wandered through various portals and had a hard time finding my way back home. GW2 could use a "hearthstone" like in World of Warcraft to return you home.
I look forward to more beta tests and it's eventual release.
